Frequently Asked Questions
Q.How does the tank cleaning process work?
A. Firstly, water is tested for pH and TDS. The anaerobic matter i.e. sludge and leaf mould etc is vacuumed from the base of the tank with a minimum of water wastage.
The water is then passed through a high tech filter system to remove particles in suspension and re oxygenate the water. A water sterilizer is then introduced to the water to control any bacteria that may be present; this product is approved by the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines. An assessment of the tank and water catchments i.e. guttering, rain heads etc. is carried out. A final report on the water condition is supplied.
Q.Does the tank have to be empty?
A. No. Naturally, a minimum amount of water is required, generally 3 – 400mm depth. We are able to clean your tank most effectively when it is full of water. Please note- our aim is to save your water.
Q. How often should I clean my rain water tank?
A. Most Councils and Water Authorities recommend annual cleaning and sanitization as a build –up of anaerobic matter breeds harmful bacteria.
